To reward our loyal customers who shop Birth Designs Collections regularly, we offer a 20% discount starting on your third order of non-sale, non-custom merchandise. Please contact us for your coupon code, if you did not receive it with your second order. The best way to order is through our website shopping cart. ORDERS ARE CHARGED TO YOUR CARD WHEN WORK BEGINS, not when they are ordered or when they are shipped. This is because that is the point when it becomes NON-REFUNDABLE if it is a custom order. We always update your account when your card is charged and you are sent an e-mail receipt at the e-mail you registered your account with. However, you may also contact us to discuss a custom order, questions, or place an order via phone. We do accept mailed checks and money orders...however, the order will only ship when payment has cleared. We would be happy to talk with you and answer any questions that you may have. While we try to ship items as soon as possible, we also make each and every piece by hand. Please allow at *least* 6 weeks for your item to be forged, PLUS shipping time (during our busy seasons it can take even longer - check our order information page for current shipping times). If you need something quickly or by a certain date, please contact us before ordering to make sure we can accommodate your request. ♥ We ship *all domestic orders* USPS First Class Mail unless requested otherwise. If you wish overnight shipping, you may purchase an upgrade in our store (A La Carte section) in ADDITION to the regular domestic shipping fee. Forging time (the time we need to make the item) on your item still applies – please contact us to find out how long it will take for your item to be ready for shipment BEFORE you order. Please note, we do NOT automatically insure our shipments. If you wish to insure your package, please purchase USPS Shipping Insurance Upgrade (under 'Upgrades' section) in our store. We regret that we **cannot be responsible** for packages lost by the USPS. ♥ ABOUT DELIVERY CONFIRMATION: Delivery confirmation IS NOT tracking. The USPS page calls it "tracking" on the site - but it's not. Ask them, or look it up. They are not even bound to scan the piece when they receive it, and they don't. Sometimes they scan it along the way, and sometimes they don't. Just because a piece is scanned at a distribution center or stop along the way, is no indication of when the piece was actually received. I have no control over if or when a piece is scanned, except at the destination - that's what being paid for. THE ONLY THING THE USPS IS BOUND TO DO WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION IS SCAN UPON DELIVERY. Nothing else is implied or guaranteed. We love the inspiration we get from our customers (you have great ideas!) and we are happy to help you put together something entirely unique. In order to order a custom piece, there are two options available to you. You may visit us, if you are in the South Puget Sound area- that will give you the unique opportunity to see the stones and beads we have in stock. The other option, especially for those of you not in our neighborhood, is to give us a call or contact us. Our phone number is 253.202.1500 (although, you will generally get a faster answer via email!). We require upfront payment for all custom pieces, and they are non-refundable. Alterations to your original order: We always use your ORIGINAL order when forging. If you sent us incorrect information, or would like to change something, we ask that you do it within 48 hours. After that, we cannot guarantee your change will make it to the forging sheet. PLEASE, DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECK ALL INFORMATION ON YOUR ORDER. We respect the copyrights and artistic talent of other designers. There's not much new in the jewelry world, and there are always pieces that will look very similar to other artist's work. However, we will not intentionally copy another's work, even in a different color/metal, etc. Please do not ask another designer to duplicate our work :( We would be happy to work with you on a custom piece, though :) To other designers: We respectfully ask that our copyrights are observed. Please do not copy our original designs...they came from our own hearts and minds and are a part of us. They are also registered with the U.S. Copyright Office and are protected by law. [return to top] Our jewelry is made with quality and pride. We do everything we possibly can to ensure that the piece you order is constructed flawlessly. Please understand, however, that the nature of handcrafted fine jewelry is more delicate than machine-constructed jewelry. It will actually last longer, with proper care. But, if it gets caught on a door knob or continually tugged on, it may loosen or even break. It is essential that you take proper care of your piece to limit the wear and tear. If your piece does break, please collect as many of the pieces as you can and contact us for a Return Authorization code.
The hallmark tag on your jewelry (or your invoice, if your piece is not hallmarked) is your warranty. We will gladly repair any item purchased from Birth Designs with our quality tag. Please contact us in advance so we know your piece is coming and can discuss repair options with you. We provide a limited lifetime warranty for all Birth Designs pieces with the Birth Designs hallmark tag. This covers any flaws, defects or normal wear-damage. If you need to return your order, contact us. Important note: Please ship your piece back to us in a proper packaging. We cannot be responsible for items that are damaged in the mail. We recommend that you use either a padded envelope or a small box with insulating foam, and that you choose a shipping method with a tracking number and appropriate insurance. We want you to be happy! If you are not satisfied, for any reason, you may return your piece for a full refund as long as it is returned within 14 days of receipt in the original condition and packaging in which it arrived. THIS APPLIES TO NON-CUSTOM WORK ONLY. CUSTOM WORK IS NOT REFUNDABLE. If you are unhappy with your CUSTOM item, please contact us - while we do not do refunds, we do want out customers to be happy and will work with you on a solution. Contact us. We do not reimburse or refund for shipping and handling charges on custom or non-custom items. As with any fine jewelry, avoid direct use of cosmetics, perfumes, and hair care items on your jewelry. Read directions on jewelry cleaners to make sure they are safe for all semi-precious stones, especially pearls and softer gemstones such as opals and turquoise. Handcrafted gemstone jewelry, though well made, may be delicate and should be handled with care. Gemstone jewelry should not be worn when in contact with chemicals of cleaners. Jewelry should be put on after make-up and hair products. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or harsh jewelry cleaners, but rather a silver polishing cloth and soft damp cloth when necessary. Your piece will arrive in an airtight resealable plastic bag inside our beautiful custom boxes. We recommend that you store your piece in the plastic bag to slow natural tarnishing of fine metals. At this time, our jewelry is available here on our website, on Etsy, and at select boutiques and retailers across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. We also do private trunk shows - if you'd like to host home party or trunk show, please contact us. We will be happy to discuss the options and details with you!
